The Culture Behind the Code

Turning standards into everyday decisions

Join ethics and compliance leaders from LRN, CVS Health and General Motors to explore what the latest Code of Conduct research reveals about culture, trust and the future of ethical decision-making.
Tuesday, September 10 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm ET

About the Webinar

Your Code of Conduct may be one of the most widely distributed documents in your organization. But, are employees using it and is it helping them make better decisions?

The most effective Codes do more than communicate policies or satisfy regulatory expectations. They translate an organization’s values into practical guidance, reinforce what leadership expects and help employees navigate situations where the right answer is not immediately clear.

Join Jim Walton of LRN, Lisa Card of CVS Health and Steve Cares of General Motors for a candid discussion about what employees need from a modern Code and how leading companies are moving beyond policy communication to shape culture, build trust, and strengthen ethical judgement.

Drawing on findings from LRN’s latest Code of Conduct Report, the panel will explore how organizations can create Codes employees do not simply acknowledge, but trust, return to, and use.

What You’ll Learn

During this webinar, you will learn:

  • What employees expect from their company’s Code of Conduct

  • How to create a Code employees will actually use
  • Creative ideas for bringing the Code to life and making it real for employees

A Different Way to Think About the Code

A strong Code should help employees answer more than: “What is the rule?” It should also help them consider:

  • Is this consistent with our values?
  • Who could be affected by this decision?
  • Would I be comfortable explaining this choice?
  • Should I ask for guidance or speak up?
  • Is this how our organization expects us to act?

The Code is not only a record of standards. It is a reflection of how an organization expects its culture to operate in practice.
